Joseph B – Pittsburgh, PA
We were heading back to Pittsburgh one weekend but a friend had told us about this sandwich shop so being the friends we are we met them out there to try it out before we headed back.
All I can say is, WOW!!!! Not only did we order sandwiches for ourselves, but while we were there we made room in our travel cooler to take sandwiches back for the family. We called down to the family we were visiting in New Jersey and told them to drop what they were doing and come up and try for themselves. The Contender, the Hoboken Plunge, and everything else we tried wasn’t just above average, but some of the best sandwiches of those style I’ve had ANYWHERE!
I see some reviews with issues with wait times… Ok so I don’t know what kind of sandwich stop you thought you were a patron of, but you may want to rethink your reviews. These were made fresh with TOP NOTCH ingredients, no gluten to be found, and taste that is out of this world. Bread that was phenomenal, fresh mozzarella made with obvious love and care for what they do, and an incomparable style.
My family in NJ are frequent customers at Hoboken Farms now, visiting there and passing many a “pretender” sandwich shop in the process. They enjoy rubbing it in when they make the trip up there to get sandwiches since I’m not about to drive 6 hours from Pittsburgh to get them…. though don’t think I haven’t been tempted.
Hoboken Farms food is worth the time and cost. Stop comparing this place to your get in and get out fast food joints and see it for what it is. Gourmet sandwiches at middle class prices. It’s a bold move in today’s marketplace and I respect them all the more for pushing substance over quantity.
